Report of MSK CME at Hamdard Institute on 26 March 2023

A one-day CME on Musculoskeletal Imaging & Interventions was organized by the Delhi State Chapter of IRIA, and held at HAHC Auditorium, Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, New Delhi on 26 March 2023. The meeting received a stupendous response with around 150 delegate registrations + 25 faculty members and chairpersons.

The meeting was coordinated by Dr. Abhinav Jain, HEAD, department of Radiodiagnosis at Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences, along with his faculty members (Dr Tany, Dr Kriti Malhotra) and their residents.

Dr. Ankur Goyal, secretary of the Delhi State chapter & Dr Deepak Gupta, President welcomed the delegates and applauded the efforts of Dr Abhinav Jain & his team. Dr Deepak Gupta delivered the welcome address and urged everyone in the hall to become members of the Delhi State Chapter of IRIA. He emphasized the benefits like travel fellowships and help with respect to PC-PNDT act.

The meeting started with an interesting Spotter session followed by demonstrations of joint ultrasound by renowned faculty members. The live demonstration of musculoskeletal ultrasound of various joints served as a guide for beginners, enabling them to learn and understand the procedure better.

A highlight of this CME was Break the Routine session on (non-radiology content). The first talk focused on healthy food habits and the second one on maintenance of the correct posture. This was a great reminder that health has a huge preventive component, which should not be ignored, especially by doctors. Dr. Ajay Fullara from VMMC & SJH was given a prize for being the youngest attendee and the seniormost radiologist present in the gathering, Dr Rajesh Gothi sir were also felicitated.

This was followed by case-based lectures on the important topics of musculoskeletal imaging and interventions. The chairpersons facilitated interactions on the practical aspects of these issues.  The event culminated with a film reading session, where literally everyone could take part anonymously using interesting nicknames. The session was highly participatory, with 70 residents actively participating and everyone showing good involvement.

There were a total of 15 E-poster presentations selected for display during the conference and all these delegates received poster presentation certificates. In addition, the following posters were declared the best and were given award certificates and gifts:

The scientific event was a huge success, attracting a good number of delegates from different parts of the city. The event provided a platform for sharing knowledge, exchanging ideas, and networking with peers. The event featured interesting lectures by eminent speakers who shared their expertise on different topics. The event also provided a rendezvous for meeting peers over tea and lunch breaks. The smooth conduction of the event without any glitches made it more enjoyable for the attendees. In conclusion, the scientific event was highly informative, engaging, and enjoyable. It provided an excellent opportunity for attendees to learn and network with their peers in a friendly and conducive environment.

The meeting received a great response and positive feedback. The Meeting ended with Vote of Thanks by the Secretary, with thanks to the host institute and all esteemed members of Delhi State chapter for their presence and active participation in the meeting.
